Florida Condos Make Great Coastal Vacation Homes

Thursday, December 20th, 2007

Who doesn’t want a place where they know that they can go when they are looking for a chance to get away from it all?

Plenty of people think of the beach as an ideal getaway – a place to go where they can relax and unwind while listening to the surf as it rolls in. The problem is that sometimes getting there isn’t as comfortable as it could be.

For example, for many people planning a coastal trip, there’s the need to choose a hotel. How can you be sure of what you’re going to get? Sure, the hotel’s website might promise that the hotel has a view of the ocean, it’s just that they won’t tell you that you have to go up to the top floor and grab a pair of binoculars if you want to be able to see it clearly. In other words, when you decide that you’ll stay in a hotel, unless you’ve been there before, you never know exactly what you’re going to get.

When you make the choice to invest in a Florida condominium, you’ll find that you have the opportunity to have your very own coastal vacation home. That way, when you need an escape you’ll know exactly what you’re going to find.

What will you find in your Florida condo? Well, in part, you’ll find a great floorplan, your own furniture and space that’s decorated exactly the way that you like it. And, of course, you’ll find that your access to the coast is as close as you want it to be.

Spend Your Time Relaxing on a Florida Beach

chairs and umbrella on a Florida Beach

Florida beaches draw many visitors each year – and not all of them come from far away. Many who relax on the sand and watch as the waves roll in, as the tide ebbs and flows, don’t pack chairs into the trunk of the car and drive for miles to reach their destination. Instead, many who enjoy Florida beaches do so without traveling far from home.

Some who live in St. Augustine and Ponce Inlet often find that they are able to walk out onto to sand without having to stray far beyond their own yards; the beach is just a short walk over the dunes. When they do, they find that they can have the space they are looking for – they’re able to choose when they go to the beach and can start or end their days sitting on the sand.

This is a convenience that some only dream of; but there’s no reason to allow yourself to be held back. Florida beach homes are there just waiting for you; why not see what the beach lifestyle can do for you?

Photography Is Among the Many Practiced Florida Arts

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

While some Florida artists choose to to paint, to play music, to act or to write, others hold fast to the opinion that one of the best things that they can do with their time is to take more photos.

Some Florida photographers head out from their St. Augustine home to take shots of surfers at dawn or of the area’s famous landmarks – the lighthouse and the fort. Some venture out from their homes to take shots of their kids at the playground or at the zoo.

Others share their work in local galleries or get together with other photographers to perfect their skills at different functions – events like the annual Florida’s Bird and Fotofest where photographers with similar interests can do more than just get out there and fire off a few shots, they can also participate in workshops and improve their skills.

What many who live in Northeast Florida soon discover is that the same factors that make it such an appealing tourist destination – the same factors that make it so popular with those who enjoy fishing and golf – also provide a great opportunity to explore their creative sides.

3 Great Reasons to Consider Buying a Florida Condo

Monday, December 17th, 2007

Whether you’re drawn to the more tourist-y destinations or you’re passionate about finding a laid back, quiet, beachside lifestyle, it should be immediately clear that there are a wide variety of Florida condominiums and homes available.

The ability to live in Florida in and of itself seems like a great reason to buy a condo there, but there are three reasons in particular why now may be a great time to take the plunge.

  1. A Florida condo is an ideal vacation home. Whether you’re looking for a home away from home, a place to escape during the winter months or a second residence where you can go when you need to take time for yourself. You’ll be able to make quick trips to golf courses, NASCAR events, theme parks, beaches and more.
  2. Florida condominiums are a great investment. Maybe you’re thinking that you are going to retire to Florida. Maybe you know that others are always going to be traveling to the area and may be looking for a different type of getaway. When you own a Florida condo, you’ll find that the property is available to you – and that the value of your investment will increase over time.
  3. Florida condos make great year round homes. With year round temperate weather, great golf, no state income tax and many other favorable qualities, those who choose to call Florida home often find themselves glad to call the state home.

Of course, all of these reasons are simplified: everyone tends to have their own reasons. What’s yours?

Fishing Off of Florida’s First Coast

Sunday, December 16th, 2007

Ask anyone who’s developed a love for fishing and they’ll tell you that there’s a mighty good reason why people find themselves on Florida’s First Coast. Whether their idea of a great day of fishing involves heading to the marina and taking their own boat out on the open water, chartering a fishing trip with someone in the area who has made taking others out on the water or packing their rods, reels and bait into the back of the car or truck, grabbing a cooler and heading to the beach or a community pier, there’s a little something for everyone.

From bluefish to yellowmouth trout, there’s always something worth catching – a meal in the making. From those who go after abundant redfish to those who prefer to take their chances with the seasons and the tides and go out on the water in an attempt to catch a shark, there’s a fishing experience for everyone – whether you really like a challenge or you just want to get out there and catch a fish.

Those who live in – or make it a point to visit – Florida’s First Coast communities find that they are able to take advantage of some of the best fishing there is. And that’s just one more reason to explore the area.

Enjoying Sports from Your Jacksonville Home

Saturday, December 15th, 2007

Those who live in a Jacksonville loft condo will find that enjoying sporting events can take many different shapes.

There are live games to see. There are homes that are wired for entertainment that make it easy to enjoy football broadcast so clearly that it feels that you’re right there are on the field.

And yet, that doesn’t mean that all of the sporting events that you see in Jacksonville are conventional or that they all revolve around the Jaguars:

(source)The Jan. 26 Australia Day rugby league match between two top international teams, the South Sydney Rabbitohs and the Leeds Rhinos, is shaping up to be an exciting event. Tickets are in the mail for purchases made by December 7, and Coach Daryl Spinner Howland says they’ll be mailed out weekly from now on. Russell Crowe is co-owner of the Rabbitohs, and if you get to meet him while he’s here, you’ll discover a celeb who acts like a regular fellow.

The VIP Post-Event match for Australia Day will be held at Maverick’s at Jacksonville Landing. The match will be broadcast live by Jacksonville Sports Radio 1010XL.

Special events happen regularly; it’s all a matter of staying on top of all of the information that you need – and knowing what’s happening when.

How Will You Choose a Waterfront Community?

Friday, December 14th, 2007

When you’ve made a commitment to finding a new home – particularly if you intend to locate waterfront community in Northeastern Florida – there are going to be a number of things that you start looking for before you make your choice.

For example, you’re going to want to look at the different communities themselves to see which offer what you’re looking for. Let’s say that you want to live in a quiet area, you’ll need to find a community that’s a bit more isolated and away from it all. If you want to live in an area where there’s plenty of activity going on every evening, you’re going to want to find a place to live that has an active night scene.

Similarly, when you choose a waterfront community home you’re going to want to be sure that the construction is done well, that the homes themselves offer features that you’re looking for – like a modern kitchen or pre-wiring for a great entertainment center – and that you’ll have a space and layout that you’re comfortable with.

Those two keys – knowing what you’re looking for in the community and your home – will help to get you started; the next steps involve expanding your lists and visiting places to see where you’re going to want to live.

Enjoy a Great Meal in Jacksonville

couple at dinner with wine

When it comes right down to it, some nights you’re just not going to feel like going to your Jacksonville loft condo to prepare dinner. Fortunately for you, part of the charm of living in Jacksonville is the wide variety of restaurants where you can sit down on your own, with that special someone or even with a group of friends and have a chance to catch up and have a great meal.

Find great restaurants serving French cuisine, dine out feasting on seafood, Italian or Spanish cuisine, or sit down to a fantastic Asian meal. Look for a laid back night at a reasonably priced restaurant where you can have fresh seafood or a burger and a microbrew.

Whether you stay near home or venture out into another part of the city, you’re sure to find a dinner that’s sure to please – whatever your tastes may be.

Living in Florida’s First Coast Communities Lets You Experience More Golf

Wednesday, December 12th, 2007

Florida’s First Coast communities from Jacksonville to Ponce Inlet to St. Augustine give visitors and residents easy access to a seemingly endless supply of great golf courses and days to play. But it’s not just playing golf that lets you get the full experience, you’ll also find that it’s possible to get a feel and understanding for the history of the sport.

Florida’s First Coast is home to the World Golf Hall of Fame. There, it’s not just possible to “play through” the game’s early starts in Scotland and to get a sense of what early greens “felt” like versus the well-manicured greens of today. Visitors can get a feel too for why the rules are the way they are, what the stars of the sport have done to achieve their success and even the science behind the perfect swing. And the best part is that, because the exhibits are regularly changed, it’s never the same visit twice.

Why’s that such a good thing? The answer to that is simple: when you love golf and have friends who enjoy the sport it’s going to be hard to keep them away from your First Coast home. But that’s okay too; it gives you another reason to get out and play 18 holes.

See What Jacksonville Has to Offer

Tuesday, December 11th, 2007

(source)Visit Jacksonville has produced and is placing a TV and radio advertising campaign in the Atlanta market to encourage tourists from the Peach State to come to Jacksonville for recreation and conventions. He added that the Atlanta effort is part of an aggressive new attitude on the part of Visit Jacksonville to re-brand the city and expand the promotional efforts through technology, especially on the Internet.

Visit Jacksonville is also developing tourism packages built around special events, said Reyes, because research indicates many people perceive Jacksonville as a “festival destination” for arts and music, especially the annual Jazz Festival produced by the City’s Special Events Department.

When you get right down to it, there are plenty of reasons why people explore Jacksonville – culture, technology, the arts, sports – and each and every reason not only is a good thing for attracting visitors to Jacksonville; each is a good reason to live in Jacksonville as well.

Jacksonville condominium homes do more than just give their residents access to all that the city has to offer – they do it in a maintenance free way. There’s no need to maintain the outside of the home, and on the inside everything can be just as original as you are.

Why not see for yourself what living in Jacksonville is all about?
