Heckscher Drive is part of the route between Amelia Island and Jacksonville’s Florida 9A and the Dames Point bridge. For a month, traffic on the road will be interrupted twice every hour except during rush hours.

Those wanting to travel from Amelia Island to Jacksonville can take Florida A1A west to Interstate 95 or U.S. 17, and then drive south, to avoid delays.
